Living Intentional with Farah ElTaher

Living Intentional with Farah ElTaher

The idea of living with intention has become quite the buzzword lately, but it’s more than just a trend—it’s a powerful way to take control of our lives and truly align with our deepest selves. For me, living intentionally means designing a life that feels authentically mine, where every action resonates with my core beliefs and aspirations. It's a shift from merely going through the motions to actively shaping our experiences with purpose and joy. Here’s how I started my journey towards intentional living without overhauling my entire routine.

My Process

  • Deep Breathing: I began incorporating moments of deep breathing throughout the day to center myself.
  • Non-Negotiable Self-Care: I made self-care rituals a priority, scheduling them as important appointments.
  • Social Commitments: I evaluated my social obligations through the lens of what I truly wanted, not just what I felt I had to do.

These small steps quickly became part of my daily life, and they’ve opened the door to even more growth. Next up on my list:

  • Eliminating Distractions: I focused on identifying and cutting out activities that distracted me from my goals.
  • Small Improvements: I embraced the idea that small, consistent changes can significantly enhance my well-being.
  • Clarifying Core Values: I reflected on my core values to guide my decisions and actions with greater intention.

How to Identify Your Core Values

Your core values are the bedrock of intentional living. They help you understand what truly matters to you and guide you towards a life that feels both purposeful and fulfilling. If you’re not sure what your core values are, ask yourself:

  • What aspects of life are most important to me?
  • How would I describe my ideal day?
  • Where do I see myself in 10 years?
  • What deeply inspires me?
  • What activities make me feel most fulfilled?
  • Which goals align with the person I want to become?
  • What brings me joy consistently?

Reflecting on these questions can help clarify your core values and set the stage for a more intentional life. Remember, living intentionally is a lifelong journey, and every step you take towards understanding and aligning with your values brings you closer to a life of purpose and fulfillment.
